Lemon Grove School District provides a continuum of special education programs and support services for students with exceptional needs, birth through grade 8. Our students’ birth to age 3, in need of special education services are served through a SELPA-wide regional program. Students in grades preschool through 8 are served within Lemon Grove School District.

Students are assessed, an Individual Education Program (IEP) meeting is held with parents and staff, and student eligibility is determined, based on criteria set by both the State and Federal Government. If a child is determined eligible, an IEP with services and supports is delineated as well as target goals/objectives developed to meet the student’s individual and unique needs. The goal of special education is to provide a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. The philosophy of the Lemon Grove School District is to partner with parents in order to provide a quality educational program for each student.
